New Balance is preparing to release the New Balance 1906U in 2024, adding another chapter to the 1906R series. The original 1906R silhouette, introduced in the early 2010s, has been widely successful due to its mesh-based design, which aligns with the current trend dominating both fashion and sneaker culture. Capitalizing on this momentum, New Balance has experimented with variations like the 1906D, which drew inspiration from the popular Protection Pack of the 2002R model. Continuing this trend, the 1906U incorporates new elements while staying true to the essence of its predecessors.
One of the launch colorways for the New Balance 1906U is the Cream Multi-Color edition. This iteration maintains the overall shape and silhouette of the 1906R while introducing fresh paneling and enhanced branding details. The shoe features a multi-textured upper, with leather panels adorning the toe area layered over a netted base. The majority of the shoe is dressed in a creamy hue, complemented by blue accents that outline the midfoot’s iconic “N” logo and the TPU heel counter.
Further updates to the 1906U include additional paneling on the midfoot, distinctive “Running” branding on the tongue, and the incorporation of ripstop and other leather elements. The sole unit mirrors that of the revived 1906R, borrowed from the New Balance 860v2. It boasts a color combination of cream, pink, and green, combined with a black rubber outsole for a balanced and stylish finish.
The New Balance 1906U Cream Multi-Color is slated for release in 2024 through New Balance and select retailers, both online and in-store. The retail price of the shoe has yet to be announced.
