As sure as day follows night, a new signature edition boot is released for Lionel Messi after his Ballon d’Or win. This year, adidas has unveiled the X Crazyfast.1 Messi “El Ocho” as Messi’s eighth Ballon d’Or success. The boot features a new colorway inspired by the gold shades seen on the Ballon d’Or award. The use of the Burrito Tongue differentiates it from the regular X Crazyfast boot. Messi’s signature line has always incorporated gold hues, symbolizing his success and the ability to turn everything he touches into gold. The gold tones are complemented with white accents, giving it a soft finish.
The design of the boot includes Messi’s children’s names and dates of birth on the heel. Additionally, there are eight balls on the medial side of each boot, representing his eight Ballon d’Or wins. The number 10 and a subtle goat face are also incorporated into the design. To mark each of his Ballon d’Or wins, the year is displayed on the soleplates. These boots are expected to be worn by Messi in upcoming fixtures.
