Ronnie Fieg’s Kith and ASICS have become known for their successful collaborations, and their latest project is no exception. After the popular X-Men ’96 GEL-LYTE III collection, which evoked nostalgia for trading cards, Kith and ASICS are now introducing their first trail-ready ASICS EX89 Outdoor sneakers.
The ASICS EX89 was originally released in 1998 as the GEL-EXTREME, and it has been revived for 2022 with a series of collaborations. This latest version features a premium pigskin suede upper in a range of retro hues inspired by the great outdoors. The base layer is a wheat-reminiscent tan, complemented by dark navy blue overlays and laces. The clean cream sole unit adds a touch of contrast, while pops of red and green appear on the profile tiger stripe, inner lining, heel bumper, tongue, and heel tabs.
If you’re eager to get your hands on a pair of Ronnie Fieg x ASICS EX89 Outdoor sneakers, you can enter the Kith in-app drawing. Limited quantities will also be available on Monday, December 11th through Kith’s regional online storefronts. In the meantime, you can check out detailed images of the sneakers.
In other sneaker news, Nike SB Dunk’s Orange Label series will be returning in a “Navy/Gum” colorway in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
