Unveiled in the fall, New Balance’s latest release, the WRPD Runner, showcases the brand’s exploration into the chunky sneaker trend. This low-top sneaker takes inspiration from classic running styles and adds a futuristic twist. Now, it extends beyond the brand’s regular offerings with a special edition inspired by the Chinese New Year.
The upper of the WRPD Runner features smoothly sculpted lines, made even more interesting with overlays that dip in and out of suede textures. The shoe is dressed in an alluring jet-black color, with 3M profile “N” logos providing a glossy finish that stands out. The midsole boasts New Balance’s popular FuelCell cushioning system, colored in a complementary dark shade of grey. A faint hint of jade illuminates the trim of the tongue and inner lining, connecting to the marbled treatment of the shoe’s box.
The New Balance WRPD Runner is part of the brand’s broader “Lunar New Year” collection. While exact release dates haven’t been confirmed, sneaker enthusiasts can expect these kicks to hit the market in the coming weeks.
