Updated October 26th, 2023: A release is now expected on November 2nd, although some retailers in Europe have already released them on October 25th.
Back in 2020, Jordan Brand made a concerted effort to get back in touch with their roots, developing an entirely new rendition of the Air Jordan 1 based on the spec of the OG. Now, over three years later, the Jumpman is providing the silhouette’s low-top trim the very same, 1985-inspired treatment, doing so with the help of much-beloved colorways the likes of the “Neutral Grey.”
Following leaks much earlier in the year, official retailer images of the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low ’85 “Neutral Grey” have finally surfaced. And unlike the same-named AJ1 Low OG that dropped back in 2020, this pair is much more faithful to the colorway’s earliest appearance. The construction, for starters, bears a much closer resemblance to the 38-year-old sneaker, featuring both a sleeker profile and Swoosh. That’s not to say there are no differences with the 2023 Retro, however, as the design features a pre-yellowed midsole and grey suedes quite a bit lighter than that of the original.

In other Swoosh news, the Nike Air Flight 89 Brigade Blue is returning.
