Teddy Santis’ recent appointment as the creative director of New Balance’s Made In USA program has brought a fresh perspective and a new level of excitement to each lookbook release. The highly-anticipated New Balance 990v4 “Macadamia Nut” from the upcoming Made In USA SS24 collection was recently unveiled, set to hit stores in less than two months.
Despite the Made in USA line’s focus on premium lifestyle wear, the influence of the outdoorsman aesthetic is evident in the color scheme of this particular model. The combination of beige and black on the midsole and upper may seem subtle at first glance, but pops of color in other areas reveal the outdoor inspiration. The standout features include pine green hiking laces, matching accents on the medial “N” logo and a cut-out panel at the rear, as well as hints of teal that add vibrancy to the design. With minor reflective 3M sections towards the forefoot and rear, this colorway successfully balances earthy tones with lively detailing.
