The Nike Cortez, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, has been receiving attention with the release of new color schemes in the past 11 months. To continue the trend, Nike has unveiled a teal and yellow version of the Cortez, giving it a vibrant look that is more suitable for Spring 2024 rather than Winter 2023.
The sneakers feature nylon uppers with suede and leather overlays that offer performance benefits. The toe and lower heel areas are made of fabric, while the profile swooshes and “Nike”-branded panels at the Achilles’ Heel stand out with their eye-catching yellow color. This color combination pays homage to older eras, deviating from the muted and tonal ensembles that have been prevalent in recent releases of the sneaker.
Keeping the design simple, the Cortez has exposed foam tongues and a straightforward midsole. However, a strip of yellow-colored foam breaks the uniformity of the sole unit, adding an interesting visual element to the shoe’s design, reminiscent of the famous Forrest Gump-approved style.
Official photos of the teal and yellow Cortez are now available while the launch details on nike.com are yet to be announced. The classic Nike Running Cortez is priced at $90 USD.
