Nike has been releasing a series of grade school-sized sneakers with a consistent theme: gradient-infused swooshes. The latest addition to this collection is the Nike Air Max 90 in a pitch-black colorway.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max 90 features a winter-ready construction with a ballistic mesh base and thick leather overlays. The shoe is predominantly black, with the leather overlays, tongue, laces, inner lining, and heel counter all matching in color. A crisp white midsole provides contrast, while the bright blue Air Max cushioning system adds a pop of color. The blue also appears on the mid-foot panels, with a gradient effect extending from the swooshes to the ink-black heel.
While the release date for the grade school exclusive Nike Air Max 90 “Blue Gradient” has not been announced yet, detailed images of the shoe are already available for sneaker enthusiasts to preview.
In other sneaker news, basketball player Darius Garland has recently signed a multi-year endorsement deal with New Balance.
