Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Sashiko” FZ5051-121: Redesigned with Traditional Japanese Embroidery

November 12, 2023

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has become a popular choice for the current dad-shoe trend in the sneaker world. The shoe has influenced the comeback of other archival runners and colorways, showcasing Nike’s ability to blend function and fashion seamlessly. Now, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 takes a step further into fashion with the introduction of sashiko style stitching.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the shoe is the textured rework. Instead of the usual mesh build, the base layer is made of canvas, adding a unique element to the shoe’s design. The tan color of the forefoot is complemented by color-matched TPU fixtures on the heel and mid-foot overlay, creating a cohesive look. The surrounding leather overlays feature a slightly darker tint, adding depth to the overall aesthetic. A touch of grey can be found on the suede quarter, while olive pull tabs and rustic orange accents on the toe and heel’s mudguards bring a pop of color. The silhouette is completed by rich chocolate brown swooshes and tread, as well as a denim-reminiscent blue sashiko stitched embellishment on the heel collar.

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Sashiko” is expected to be released in the Spring of 2024. Sneaker enthusiasts can already get a closer look at the shoe through detailed imagery.

In other sneaker news, the PUMA MB.01 “Golden Child” will be released on November 24th.
