In 2021, James Whitner and his A Ma Maniere label collaborated with Jordan Brand to release a women’s exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan 3 Retro, which quickly became one of the most sought-after releases in recent years. Now, A Ma Maniere is back with two Air Jordan 5 Retros. This collaboration follows their successful drops of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, Air Jordan 2 Retro, Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4 Retro, and Air Jordan 12 Retros.
For the upcoming Holiday 2023 collection, A Ma Maniere and Jordan Brand will release the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 5 Retro. Originally planned to include a men’s colorway called “Light Bone,” this has been replaced with a new women’s exclusive called “Photon Dust” (also known as Dawn). Both pairs will feature contrasting designs, similar to the AJ 12 Pack. The men’s pair will have a suede upper, while the women’s pair will be made of leather.
The A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 5 Retro SP Black is designed with a black-based suede upper, burgundy crush accents on the midsole’s shark teeth and inside tongue lining, and an aged look with mesh netting and translucent hits on the outsole. The netting features A Ma Maniere’s “A” logo. The women’s A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 5 Retro SP Dawn has a photon dust leather-based upper, with diffused blue accents on the shark teeth, tongue and back heel branding, and lining. Black is used to accent the midsole, and aged details can be seen on the translucent parts of the outsole and mesh netting.
Both the “Black” and “Dawn” colorways of the A Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 5 Retro SP will be released on November 22, 2023, through Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide. The Dawn colorway will also be available at The Whitaker Group storefronts on November 17, 2023. The “Black” pair will be available in men’s sizing for $225, while the “Dawn” pair will be offered in extended women’s sizing, preschool, and toddler sizes. Retail prices for these pairs are set at $225, $100, and $85, respectively.
