Patta, the Amsterdam-based streetwear brand, is known for its iconic collaborations with Nike. Their partnership dates back to 2006, and together they continue to push the boundaries of sneaker design. Their latest project involves reimagining the classic Nike Air Huarache.
The upcoming Patta x Nike Air Huarache is a fusion of retro elements from various Nike sneakers. It features a jersey mesh base, which gives it a nostalgic feel while incorporating modern aesthetics. The mesh is encased with a neoprene bootie and smooth leather overlays, adding a touch of sophistication to the design. The silhouette’s base draws inspiration from the Air Trainer Huarache 94, while the strap structure takes cues from the Air Unlimited, blending different eras of Nike’s design history.
The colorway of the Patta x Nike Air Huarache is a tasteful mix of grey, white, and pink. Grey dominates the mesh, while pink accents adorn the neoprene and nylon straps. This blend of hues is further highlighted on the co-branded pull tab at the heel. The tongue features a black panther logo encircled by the text “Air Huarache By Patta.” Completing the design is a midsole and outsole in a light orewood brown color borrowed from the Pegasus 40, seamlessly uniting the past and present.
The Patta x Nike Air Huarache is set to release in 2024 and will be available at Patta, Nike, and SNKRS stores, both in-person and online. The release will be in men’s sizing, and the retail price is yet to be determined.
