Koundé is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Spanish club Barcelona and the France national team. Koundé started his career with Bordeaux, making his professional debut in 2017. He spent three seasons with the club, winning the 2018–19 Coupe de la Ligue. In 2020, Koundé joined Sevilla for a fee of €25 million. He helped the club to win the 2020–21 Europa League, their sixth title in the competition. On 29 July 2022, Barcelona announced an agreement with Sevilla for the transfer of Koundé.
