Sotheby’s, a prestigious auction house, has always been known for hosting sales of the most coveted sneakers in the world. In their upcoming Emergence auction, they will be featuring an extremely rare and unreleased SB Dunk Low sample from the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low collection that was released in 2021. This event is yet another significant moment in sneaker auctions, bringing together enthusiasts and collectors to witness and participate in the sale of exclusive footwear.
The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Court Purple sneaker being auctioned is a standout piece due to its unique characteristics and rarity. Unlike the commercially released versions from the 2021 series, such as Black, Mean Green, Hyper Royal, and Barkroot Brown, this sample takes inspiration from the 2003 Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High prototypes. These prototypes were highly sought-after collectibles and were previously auctioned through Pharrell’s JOOPITER.
The Court Purple sample deviates from the retail pairs by featuring gold Nike text on the midfoot panel, paying homage to the 2003 samples. The rest of the sneaker maintains the same branding details as the retail pairs, including the Supreme and Nike SB co-branding on the hangtag and additional Supreme branding on the lace dubrae. Another noteworthy difference is the use of court purple faux croc leather on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay.
The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Court Purple Sample auction is scheduled to begin on December 8, 2023, and will conclude on December 18, exclusively at Sotheby’s. The lot is expected to fetch a price range of $4,000 to $6,000. If you’re interested in bidding on the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Court Purple, you can do so by visiting the Sotheby’s website.
