The adidas ZX 8000 Makes a Comeback in “Aluminum”

December 12, 2023

The adidas ZX 8000 is making a comeback after its highly anticipated collaboration with Gucci earlier this year. As we approach the end of 2023, the ZX 8000 has emerged in a new colorway that suggests it will have a significant role in adidas’ lineup for 2024.

First introduced in 1988, the ZX 8000 has seen many reissues over the years. This time, it sports a subtle yet captivating combination of “Aluminum/Preloved Yellow/Collegiate Burgundy.” Like other adidas Originals sneakers, this retro running silhouette combines vintage and modern elements in both design and color palette. The majority of the shoe features a grayscale finish, but the profile 3-Stripes, inner lining, and other parts of the upper stand out in bolder colors. The tried-and-true sole unit has an off-white midsole, adding to its old school charm, while the tread is pitch black, allowing the pops of color to stand out.

Official photos of the ZX 8000 in this colorway have been released, and it is currently available at adidas.com stores overseas. We can expect a stateside launch in the first half of 2024, with a retail price of $130 USD.
