UPDATE November 15th, 2023
The Women’s Air Jordan 1 “Metallic Gold” is set to release on February 14th, 2024. Recent retailer photography has confirmed the rumors of this retro release and provided new details about the sneakers.
In 2024, other variations of the original Air Jordan 1 will also be released with metallic finishes, paying homage to the 1980s releases. However, the upcoming women’s retro version deviates slightly from Peter Moore’s original design with its “Light Gum Brown” outsole. The sneaker still retains the iconic profile swooshes, collar panels, and “Wings” insignia on the lateral ankle flap. The majority of the sneaker features a “White” colorway that is appropriate for the era.
-ORIGINAL STORY June 12th, 2023
Despite some consumer fatigue surrounding the Air Jordan 1, new styles of this iconic silhouette continue to emerge. Rumors have recently surfaced about a Retro High OG version in a “White/Metallic Gold” color scheme. This unreleased pair follows the color-blocking of the 1985 “Metallic” Air Jordan collection and will only be available in women’s sizing. The majority of the sneaker features a clean, “colorless” look, with luxurious interruptions provided by the profile swooshes, collar underlays, and “Wings” logos on the ankles. The sneaker is completed with a “Gum Light Brown” outsole.
