Long before he became the head of ASICS SportStyle, Kiko Kostadinov had already made a name for himself as a collaborator with the brand. In 2017, he designed the popular GEL-Burz 1 + 2, which quickly gained fame as one of the best “dad shoes” on the market. His retro-futurist influence was immediately apparent as ASICS delivered iconic and modernized silhouettes in the perfect colors and materials. This influence is seen again in the upcoming GEL-Kayano 14.
Although not a collaboration or part of the UBS-1 line, this GEL-Kayano 14 embodies the distinct look and feel established by Kiko’s partnership with ASICS. It features muted olive/grey tones contrasted with a concrete grey, giving it that signature Kiko Kostadinov aesthetic. With its undeniable resemblance to his designs, this release is expected to sell out quickly upon its release date.
As of now, the specific release date for the seasonal GEL-Kayano 14s has not been confirmed. However, it is anticipated that these sneakers will be available early in 2024.
