Levante UD Don ‘Against Cancer’ Kit

October 29, 2023

Taking action for a great cause, the players of Levante UD donned a special kit in their game against Racing Ferrol. The purpose of this unique kit was to promote the fight against cancer by depicting a mastectomy in place of a traditional sponsor.

Cancer is a global issue that affects countless individuals. It is a constant battle, both physically and mentally. In an effort to show support and raise awareness, Levante UD unveiled a special kit for their match. The kit featured a representation of a mastectomy on the chest, with a drawing of a breast on one side and a scar on the other. This powerful display was worn by the players in their 1-0 victory against Racing Ferrol at Ciutat de València.

In Spain alone, the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM) reports that 35,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year. Levante’s campaign aims to emphasize the importance of research in the fight against the disease and show support for women suffering from breast cancer.

In a remarkable act of support, Levante’s main sponsor, Marcos Automoción, willingly stepped aside to allow the mastectomy image to take its place on the shirt. They selflessly gave up their sponsorship space for this noble cause.

To further support the fight against cancer, the signed shirts worn by the players during the match are being auctioned through the Match Worn Shirt web platform. Additionally, Levante UD will be selling replica versions of the special kit. All proceeds from the shirt sales will be donated to the Spanish Association against Cancer of Valencia.

This inspiring initiative by Levante UD not only raises awareness about breast cancer but also demonstrates the power of unity and support in the face of adversity. By using their platform and the game of football, the club is making a lasting impact in the fight against cancer.
